Evolve502 recently expanded, adding new student support coaches to our staff. The new coaches, part of the Scholarship and Student Success Team, will work to make sure students have the resources needed to complete their postsecondary degree or credential. The coaches will check in with students on a regular basis, ensuring that students have met academic benchmarks and connecting them with resources to aid in their success. What led you to Evolve502? I resonated with Evolve502’s mission of creating educational opportunities for young people in Louisville. Access to education revolutionizes our world for the better, and by investing in the education of the city’s youth, we can uplift and achieve positive change in our communities.
Your job is a new position at Evolve502. What are you most looking forward to as you begin your work? I am most looking forward to connecting with my students, being by their sides to support, guide, and cheer them on as they achieve their goals.
What advice do you have for students who may be facing challenges during college, either with school or personal stressors? Be sure to give yourself grace and never be afraid to ask for help, whether that’s from your friends, family, professors, or college coaches and staff.
What’s is your number one tip for success in college? Time management is an essential tool for success in college.
What do you wish you had known in college that would have better prepared you for the college experience? I wish I had known more about how to access the services that my college offers, such as accessibility and career services. Be sure to ask about these services so you can receive beneficial support.
What is one random/fun fact about you? I’m a Star Wars nerd and know Episode 3 by heart
